(EFSP) Emergency Food and Shelter Program
Congress has appropriated $119,760,000 to supplement and expand emergency food and shelter programs. With the receipt of the $119,760,000 for use in FY 2011 (Phase 29), the EFSP National Board is again reserving a portion of these funds for the State Set-Aside (SSA) process. This process allows for additional flexibility in selecting jurisdictions for funding.
Through direct and SSA awards, each state receives a minimum of $250,000. SSA awards are based upon the unemployment in the non-qualifying jurisdictions in the state.
McKean County jurisdiction has been awarded funds ($6,462) through the SSA process under Phase 29 of the Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP).
