Megan R. Mangini has been named community relations and marketing specialist for the United Way of the Bradford area, according to Dan Manion, president of the United Way's board of directors.

The announcement was made on Tuesday.

"The Board of Directors is excited to welcome Megan to the United Way organization," says Manion. "Her qualifications, education and commitment to the area will be an asset to the organization as we move into the 2010 campaign."

The United Way of the Bradford Area is a non-profit organization with the mission of raising and distributing funds for the purpose of community building and enhancing the quality of life in the greater Bradford area.

"I am honored to serve the United Way and the Bradford community in this capacity," says Mangini. "I am extremely eager to use my education, knowledge and experience to help achieve the United Ways goals."

Mangini will manage external communications, fundraising, marketing and website for the United Way.

Mangini has worked previously as the director of sales and marketing at Microtech Small Arms Research, where she assisted with the sales accounts, maintained the organization's website and developed and implemented the annual marketing plan for the company.

Mangini earned a bachelor of science in Entrepreneurship from University of Pittsburgh and a masters of arts in Integrated Marketing Communications from St. Bonaventure University. She resides in Bradford with her fiancé Brian, and dog "Mickey".
